Alex MalisonAlex Malison - CEO
Alex Malison has served as CEO of ASI since its inception in 1987. In co-founding ASI with Smiley Hsu, Mr. Malison was able to combine his knowledge of the restaurant industry with his education and expertise in software design. Coming from a family that has owned and operated restaurants for three generations Mr. Malison had the foresight in the mid-80s to launch one of the first PC-based "open architecture" POS systems for restaurants in a market that was still dominated by proprietary systems. More recently, Mr. Malison has devoted his energies to the designing and patenting of ASI's Write-On Handheld, the next generation wireless handheld POS system for the foodservice industry.

Mr. Malison holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from City University in London, England.

Smiley HsuSmiley Hsu - President
Since founding ASI with Alex Malison in 1987, Mr. Hsu has managed touchscreen product development through 17 version releases and, in the process, created a POS application that makes the Restaurant Manager brand one of the most respected brands in the POS industry. Mr. Hsu began his career designing sonar systems and navigation equipment for underwater remotely operated vehicles. Mr. Hsu also has worked as a system engineer at NASA in support of the Hubble Space Telescope and GOES weather satellites.

Mr. Hsu graduated from Johns Hopkins University with BS and MS degrees in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.

Lisa WilsonLisa Wilson, Managing Vice-President
Lisa Wilson's experience in the restaurant industry began as manager of the American Cafe chain of restaurants in the Washington, DC area. After joining ASI as a technical writer in 1995, Ms. Wilson quickly moved into the management team and, in 2000, was promoted to Managing Vice President. In her current position Ms. Wilson oversees operations in both the Sales and Marketing departments. Ms. Wilson has also worked as a fundraiser and grantwriter for various charitable organizations in the Washington, DC area and has a BS in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University.

Craig BednarovskyCraig Bednarovsky, Director of Sales & Marketing
Craig Bednarovsky recently joined ASI after spending the past three years as an independent management and process consultant to BearingPoint and Accenture. During that time Mr. Bednarovsky was primarily responsible for guiding a large government client's development and implementation of strategic marketing and sales plans, as well as leading business process re-engineering efforts. Prior to management consulting Mr. Bednarovsky spent 7 years with the B2B e-commerce unit of General Electric and was a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. While at GE he held various marketing leadership roles including portfolio manager for a suite of supply chain focused e-commerce products.

Mr. Bednarovsky holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from American University in Washington, DC, and an MBA from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

David Bolling - Director Software Development
David Bolling first made his mark in the industry as a programmer and creative force behind the first graphical touchscreen restaurant POS software offering while working at Geac/Fasfax in 1991, helping to transform the POS software landscape. Mr. Bolling joined ASI in 2002 to apply his innovative ideas to ASI's newly created Write-On Handheld, taking the software from the proof of concept initial version that it was then to the full-featured industry leading mobile POS and pay-at-the-table product that it is today. Mr. Bolling is currently Director of Software Development at ASI, in charge of R&D and software development operations.

Mr. Bolling graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS degree in Computer Science.

Jay ShavitzJay Shavitz, Business Development Manager
Jay Shavitz began his career in the early 1980s managing a restaurant group with locations in Myrtle Beach and High Point, South Carolina. After overseeing a POS upgrade for the business, Mr. Shavitz decided to combine his restaurant expertise with his computer know-how and in 1989 founded Infinity Systems, a POS dealership that served the growing restaurant market along the Carolina coast. After representing a variety of restaurant POS applications, Infinity Systems began selling the Restaurant Manager POS product line in 2000. In 2006 Mr.Shavitz brought on a partner in Infinity Systems in order to devote his energies to providing sales and technical support to Restaurant Manager resellers throughout North America.

Jerry PilcherJerry B. Pilcher, Technical Sales Manager, Pre-Sale Support
Jerry Pilcher came to ASI early in 2007 after a long and successful career in field sales. He began his POS career with NCR Corporation in the early 80's in Texas. Mr. Pilcher has experience in several industry areas of the POS field, working directly for manufacturers (NCR, Micros, & Sicom), for dealerships (Aloha & Panasonic), and as a systems integrator, specializing in CCTV-POS interfaces. Mr. Pilcher plans to spend more time in the field, working with ASI's network of established dealers.

Mr. Pilcher holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University.
